eine Million KurdInnen leben in Europa im Exil, viele als politische
Flüchtlinge, die nicht in die Türkei zurückkehren können, weil
sie dort sofort eingesperrt würden. Aber auch in vielen EU-Staaten
werden kurdische FreiheitskämpferInnen als TerroristInnen verfolgt.</font><font color="#000000">
</font><font color="#000000">Der Film portraitiert einige der
Exilierten, fährt an die Orte in Kurdistan, an die sie selber nicht
zurück können und begegnet dort dem Widerstand der kurdischen
Zivilgesellschaft gegen die autoritäre, minderheitenfeindliche
Politik des türkischen Staates. Wir begegnen z.B. der
Bürgermeisterin von Nusaybin, die mit 80% der Stimmen gewählt wurde
und doch ständig von Polizei und Regierung unter Druck gesetzt wird.
Wir lernen eine der Journalistinnen kennen, die die systematische
Folter an kurdischen Kindern und Jugendlichen im Gefängnis von
Pozanti aufgedeckt hat. Wir begleiten die Särge der drei in Paris im
Jänner 2013 ermordeten kurdischen Aktivisten auf ihrem letzten Weg.
Dabei begegnen wir einer Befreiungsbewegung, die von demokratischen,
multiethnischen und feministischen Idealen genauso inspiriert ist,
wie vom Kampf für die kurdische Sprache und Kultur.</font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0cm"><br>

und erhielt beim CINELASAMERICAS International Filmfestival in
Austin/Texas und beim EL OJO COJO International Filmfestival in
Madrid jeweils den Preis für den Besten Dokumentarfilm.</font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0cm; "><br>

Zeitung des Kurdischen Widerstandes in der Türkei. Darf selbst als
politischer Flüchtling nicht in die Türkei zurück. Amtierte
mehrere Jahre als Vorsitzender von FEYKOM, dem Dachverband der
