size="3">Der Flakturm im Esterházypark in Wien Mariahilf wurde
2015 privatisiert. </font><font style="font-size: 12pt"
size="3">Nun soll das</font><font style="font-size: 12pt"
size="3"> 1991 vom New Yorker Künstler Lawrence Weiner am
Flakturm realisierte Mahnmal gegen Krieg und Faschismus
„Zerschmettert in Stücke (im Frieden der Nacht)/Smashed to
pieces (in the still of the night)“ aus dem Stadtbild Wiens
verschwinden.</font></font><br>

März bieten die Hochschüler*innenschaften an der Akademie </span></span><span

Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien wieder ein „Survival Kit
für Kunststudierende“ mit vielen Informationen für
Künstler*innen, Kulturarbeiter*innen und Studierende über
finanzielle und rechtliche Angelegenheiten a</span>n. Das

<font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3">Asli Erdogan in der Türkei,
Ai Weiwei in China und Natalia Kalaida in Weissrussland – einige
weltweit bekannte Fälle der Verletzung künstlerischer Freiheit und
der Bedrohung künstlerischer Existenz. Seit Dezember 2016 trifft
sich in Österreich eine offene Gruppe involvierter Institutionen
und interessierter Personen zur Thematik. Die aus diesem
Zusammenhang 2017 gestartete Impulsreihe „Arts, Rights &
Justice" bietet seither eine Plattform für Dialog, um
Meinungsfreiheit, Menschenrechte und soziale Gerechtigkeit in
Zusammenhang mit künstlerischer Praxis zu verhandeln und macht
deutlich, in welche Gefahren sich Künstler*innen durch ihre Arbeit
oftmals begeben.</font><br>

<font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3">Lillian Fellmann, Chair der
Arts Rights Justice EU working group, hat 2017 erstmalig einen
Einblick zur Arbeit auf internationaler Ebene gegeben. Im
diesjährigen Workshop wird sie über den aktuellen Fokus der Arbeit
und über die Safe Havens Konferenz vom Dez 2017 in Malmö
berichten. Der Workshop ist als Fortbildung und aktuelle
Standortbestimmung für Interessierte in Österreich gedacht und
auch als konkreter Impuls für die Entwicklung eines nationalen
Monitorings bei Verletzungen künstlerischer Freiheit.</font><br>
